- 1x Enamelled Cast Iron Casserole Dish 28cm (6l)
Before using for the first time, wash your Trento cast iron cookware by hand, with a small amount of mild detergent. Dry promptly and thoroughly with a lint-free cloth or paper towel.
Pre-heat your Trento. Since cast iron holds heat, it's not necessary to use a heat setting above medium (never over 260°C). Don't forget to use a hot handle mitt!
Once your pan is pre-heated, add a very light layer of cooking oil (any cooking oils and fats can be used for seasoning, but we recommend vegetable oil, coconut, or canola oil) onto the surface of your pan, heat for one or two minutes and wash it again.
What does seasoning mean? Seasoning forms a natural, easy-release cooking surface and helps prevent your pan from rusting while the non-stick performance get better and better. A well-seasoned cast iron pan can last for generations.
Use only silicone, nylon or wooden utensils to stir food.
Enamelled iron is extremely resistant but it can be damaged if it suffers any impact against hard surfaces. Avoid dropping or hitting your Trento against hard surfaces, which can cause the enamel to come off. If this occurs, rust can appear in the affected area without compromising the performance of the cookware items.
Never use abrasive products to wash it.
